Mission
This Institute will have as its mission its insertion in the socially committed regional development, without losing sight of the contact with the contemporary world, in its global context, preserving fundamentals and principles such as the maintenance of the space where ethics, coherence and democracy are the beacons for each teaching, research and extension activity.
Producing and socializing knowledge in the various fields of knowledge, in order to contribute to the training of qualified professionals able to work and train citizens capable of acting in the construction of democracy and social justice, are intentions that are, as stated in the Statute of the Synodal Superior Polytechnic Institute of Angola – ISPSA defined in the following principles:
I – The indissolubility between teaching, research and extension;
II – Ethics as a guide for institutional practice, in all its internal relations and with society;
III - The nature, democratic, secular and socially referenced quality, being the responsibility of the Union to guarantee resources for the maintenance of the institution;
IV – Transparency, publicity, honesty, rationality, impersonality, efficiency and regularity in the acts and management of the institution's resources, with the right to adversary proceedings;
V – The promotion of a multicampu character, with democratic and Collegiate management, maintaining equity in the treatment of human, material and budgetary resources in all academic units;
VI – The guarantee of the transdisciplinarity of knowledge and its pedagogical conceptions, in the exercise of the freedom of teaching, research and extension, disseminating and socializing knowledge;
VII – Equal access and permanence in the institution;
VIII – Contribution to the socioeconomic, technical-scientific, political, cultural, artistic and environmental development of the State, the region, the country and the world;
IX – The commitment to expanding private education, with a unitary standard of quality at all levels;
X – The democratic planning of the institution;
XI – The propaedeutic education, aimed at valuing the work and social life of students before and after facing higher education.
Purposes
The Instituto Superior Politécnico Sinodal de Angola - ISPSA, without losing sight of the political, cultural and socio-economic dimensions that complete its commitment to the historical process and with a view to the ability to develop teaching, research and extension activities based on the development of processes aimed at the transformations aspired by society, has, in the Statute, its purposes defined as follows:
I – to promote the continuing, critical and professional education of man;
II – maintain interaction with society, with its various organizations and with the world of work;
III – establish forms of cooperation with Governments, Higher Education Institutions, Angolan and/or foreign scientific, cultural and educational bodies;
IV – promote peace, solidarity, the defense of human rights and the preservation of the environment;
V – provide education, aiming at training people capable of carrying out research, teaching and other work campuses, including political and social areas;
VI – develop and disseminate, in a theoretical and practical way, the knowledge resulting from teaching, research and extension, in its multiple areas;
VII – generate, transmit and disseminate knowledge in high quality standards;
VIII – expand the population's access to Higher Education and train professionals in different areas of knowledge;
IX – provide academic assistance through extension and perform other activities in the area of its competence;
X – make efforts so that the knowledge produced in the institution is capable of being transformed into public policies to overcome social and political inequalities.
GOALS
The objectives to be achieved to make institutional development effective lack details in specific goals for each dimension of administrative management. However, it is convenient to establish general objectives that define the path that the institution must follow to achieve its development.
For the performance of the Instituto Superior Politécnico Sinodal de Angola - ISPSA, in the period between 2012 and 2016, the following general objectives were established:
Expansion of the space for dialogue with society;
Direct research and extension to social and technological demands;
Development of social inclusion programs;
Optimization of infrastructure resources;
Strengthening the performance of Collegiate bodies in defining institutional policies;
Review and update of normative instruments;
Strengthening of internal autonomy;
Establishment of human resources development policy;
Implementation of student support programs;
Establishment of academic policies for the integration of teaching, research and extension;
Promotion of the improvement of the quality of education in Angola at all levels;
Strengthening of research;
Consolidation of extension as a pedagogical space for training;
Dissemination of institutional scientific, technical and artistic productions
