INSTITUTIONAL PROFILE
The Instituto Superior Politécnico Sinodal de Angola – ISPSA does not yet have any history, as it is in the process of being created and institutionalized, it is born as one of the most important institutions in the Southern Regional context of Angola, more precisely, in the provinces of Namibe and Huíla that corresponds to the 6th Academic Region. Its creation takes place from the dismemberment of other institutions that already exist, but which do not satisfy the student population demand of the South Region and in the search for higher institutes for technical and academic courses that the country needs, given that we are in a time recognized as one of advances technological.
This school will certainly go through a period of transition to enable, based on planned actions, the adoption of a particular profile that, respecting the already existing Universities and Institutes, could also assume a new aspect that would justify its appearance. Thus, the first moment of existence of this institution was marked, mainly, by the struggle for its implantation, as the continuity of its teaching, research and extension activities depends on technical support and an infrastructure that the Higher Administration needs. to ensure to make its implementation feasible.
After overcoming some of the most serious difficulties of this first moment, the school will be able to collectively build its new appearance, based on the elaboration of an Institutional Development Plan that reveals the institution's commitment to teaching, research and extension activities. , with the institutional management and evaluation, as well as with its socio-economic aspect.
The Instituto Superior Politécnico Sinodal de Angola - ISPSA, although, with this nomenclature and with a differentiated academic and administrative structure, being a new institution, will have its pillars anchored in solid support: its origin goes back a long time, when Private Higher Education gave the first steps in our Region. Although not implemented at that time, some socio-political constraints, beyond our control, never departed from the vocation that is supported by the principles of public and private responsibility and social commitment. Over these years, we want to build a tradition of academic excellence in teaching, research and extension that puts it at the service of scientific and technological progress, the solution of social problems and the promotion of human development.
With the creation of this school, it will have a structure with five courses, namely, Social and Human Sciences Course, Sociology Option, Agronomy Course, Medicine Course, Business Management and Economics Course and Law Course in a first phase.
The social inclusion and economic development of the region have always been important points in the projects and institutional actions, which was decisive for the prominence that the institution intends to achieve in the national academic scenario.
From the perspective of establishing these five courses of excellence and bringing together conditions to qualify the workforce specialized in meeting the demands of social life and diversities of services, that is, by providing services in the area of Health (Hospital de Kaluquembe), Education and Agriculture and for acting to ensure positive social, economic, political and cultural changes in the reality in which it operates, the institution is a reference for the development and progress of the State and of the Southern Region of Angola.
In the field of planning, the school will be able to acquire maturity to discuss, develop and implement new matrices for the allocation of teaching vacancies and budget resources that begin to resolve injustices and distortions that are perpetuated, starting to privilege variables such as the expansion of enrollment and the creation of evening courses and courses away from headquarters, among other parameters, which determine the recovery and pre-eminence of the Centers that will invest more in the democratization of access to higher education.
The Instituto Superior Politécnico Sinodal de Angola - ISPSA, tribute to the development achieved by the Church itself, in its 117 years of existence marked by a success story, as a higher education institution, it becomes one of the last to be implemented, but we want with this, emphasize our capacity for organization and collaboration with the State in the social aspect.
